چکیده

Samples of non-stoichiometric nano-CdS1−x were synthesized by a simple thermolysis method lowering the ratio thiourea relative to cadmium acetate as starting precursors: Cd(Ac):(1 − x) (x = 0.0, 0.03, 0.05, and 0.1). X’pert HighScore Plus program manifested biphasic CdS (cubic hexagonal), Rietveld analysis was utilized match structural microstructure parameters formed samples. The possibility CdS1−xOx alloy due sulfur deficiency is also examined using method. A high-resolution transmission electron microscope imaging exhibited nanosize particles with homogeneous morphology. Fourier transform infrared spectrometer confirm existence O2 in CdS1−x matrix. band-gap energies for are reduced below values energy gaps CdO upon increasing parameter (x) forming “bowing.” photoluminescence (PL) emitted visible colors depending on amount excitation wavelength used. maximum PL intensity observed CdS0.9 sample confirmed presents oxygen inside influence substitution or vacancies electronic structure optical features investigated applying density function calculations.

Structural, Magnetic and Catalytic Properties of Non-Stoichiometric Lanthanum Ferrite Nano-Perovskites in Carbon Monoxide Oxidation

Perovskite-type oxides of LaFe(1+x)O(3+δ) (x = 0.0, 0.2, 0.5 and 0.7) were synthesized by citrate sol–gel methodto ensure the formation of nanosized perovskites. The physicochemical properties of these LaFe(1+x)O(3+δ)materials were characterized by thermal gravimetric/differential analyses, Fourier transform infraredspectroscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, scanning electron and...

Phage-directed synthesis of copper sulfide: structural and optical characterization.

The growth of crystalline copper sulfide using a viral template was investigated using sequential incubation in CuCl2 and Na2S precursors. Non-specific electrostatic attraction between a genetically-modified M13 bacteriophage and copper cations in the CuCl2 precursor caused phage agglomeration and bundle formation. Following the addition of Na2S, polydisperse nanocrystals 2-7 nm in size were fo...

Electronic behavior of three oxygen non-stoichiometric Fe4+/Fe3+ oxoperovskites

For comparison with the Mn/Mn oxoperovskites at the crossover from localized to itinerant behavior of the s-bonding e electrons, the electronic properties of three oxygen non-stoichiometric, mixed-valent Fe/Fe oxoperovskites were explored by measuring their resistivity r(T), thermoelectric power a(T), and magnetic susceptibility w(T). Oxidation of Ca2Fe2O5 by annealing in ozone progresses by ox...
